TRANSIENT NATURAL CONVECTION FLOW WITH COSINUSOIDALLY FLUCTUATING THERMAL AND MASS DIFFUSION


The problem of a transient natural convection flow of a viscous incompressible fl uid past a permeable (porous) fl at plate with the temperature and concentration cosinusoidally fl uctuating with time is considered. The equations of mass, momentum, and energy conservation that govern the heat and mass transfer problem are solved analytically with the use of the regular perturbation technique. Explicit expressions for the velocity, temperature, and concentration are obtained. Numerical evaluation of the analytical results is performed, and graphical results for the flow characteristics, skin friction, and the rate of heat transfer are presented and discussed.
